An African safari jacket is usually a khaki light weight cotton with self belt and more pockets where you put accessories. Other colors for jackets are brown or olive colors. Avoid bright coloured clothes as you will look conspicuous to wild animals.
Make sure that the material is cotton, try as much as you can not to put on synthetic stuff. Sometimes a safari can involve walking under the African sun and swear may be a bother.
